Film Planning – We plan to do some serious production planning for shooting a number of very short mini-documentaries over the summer. Mostly on local themes.

Saturday March 29th - Gloucester (St George's Church Centre, Brockworth)

The Gloucestershire Inter Club Competition. This year we host this event where the local Gloucestershire area clubs compete for trophies.

Screen Acting or How to Direct Actors – we will be working with two actors running improvisational scenes and trying out techniques on getting the best performance out of them.

Moving the camera – why and how a mixture of ‘Teach-in’ and practical

Filming with Drones.

Presenter: Roger Davis.

This is a two-part evening:

The first part will be a demonstration of drone flying for those who have no experience or knowledge of the subject. There will be an opportunity to take the controls and perform simple manoeuvres.

The second part will be an illustrated talk about the technicalities of filming with drones including:

  • What weight of drones you can fly, in what situations and with what qualifications
  • Juggling the minefield local byelaws and communicating with the airspace authorities
  • How to get the best drone shots both manually and using intelligent flight modes
  • What apps are available to give you the most information about what’s going on around you
Plus a Q & A if time permits.

Production planning meeting, plus discussion on future club events plus an update on current productions. The evening will include proposals for new films including perhaps some radical ideas.

How to direct, a practical evening – we practice some directing tips. Including: The shooting script / storyboard, organising the crew, the assistant director, action & cut, rehearsals for cast & crew, plus much more.
