1934 - 2024

2024 sees the 90th anniversary of BFVS.

Originally founded in 1934 as Bristol Fellowship of Amateur Cinematographers (Western Area Branch) our club has survived a world war, a worldwide pandemic and many other obstacles in between.

Our 90th Anniversary Celebration

Tuesday 21st May 2024

To celebrate such a landmark as this we hired Screen 1 of the Orpheus Cinema in Henleaze, Bristol. This Gala evening was a huge success. Presented to an invited audience of past and present members, actors and many other people who have had an involvement in our ventures in many ways. It comprised a large selection of film excerpts and a few complete short films.

We are grateful to David Price who organised the event, with the help of members of the committee and others.

The evening was admirably presented by our Chairman, Tim Smart.
